Welcome to Listening for a Change

Our Mission is to promote understanding and acceptance of human diversity through education, oral history, and the arts.

Listening for a Change works to achieve its Mission through three dynamic programs: Essence of Acceptance, the Community Listening Project, and Diversity & Inclusion for Businesses, Nonprofits and Government Agencies. We also maintain a traveling exhibit: view the Sonoma County Survivor Project and its support materials for teachers.

Each is a catalyst for change in achieving acceptance of diversity in our schools, neighborhoods and greater communities. By integrating human rights education with storytelling and responsive art projects, Listening for a Change strives to enable students and community members to apply lessons of the past to the emerging and challenging issues of today.
